Canadian Delegation Heads to Australia for BIGSOUND 2026
[TORONTO, CANADA — August 27, 2026] — Canada’s music industry is heading to Australia this week as Canadian music businesses and artist entrepreneurs gather for BIGSOUND 2026, taking place in Gold Coast and Brisbane from August 28 through September 4. This year, Canada takes centre stage as BIGSOUND’s Spotlight Country, creating an important platform for Canadian music companies to build connections, explore new markets and strengthen business opportunities across Australia and the wider Indo-Pacific region. The Canadian delegation will kick off its BIGSOUND experience in Gold Coast on Friday, August 28, with a special pre-event for invited delegates. From there, participants will travel to Brisbane for a full week of business development and industry programming, including B2B meetings, panels, roundtables, mixers, networking events, industry lunches and events presented as part of the Goolwal Goolwal First Nations program. As part of the Spotlight Country programming, Canada will also host a special event on Thursday afternoon at The Prince Consort, giving Canadian and Australian music industry representatives an opportunity to connect and strengthen relationships between the two markets. This year, CIMA and MMF Canada bring together delegations from both organizations and expand the Canadian industry's presence at BIGSOUND.
