CIMA (formerly CIRPA) and Yangaroo (formerly Musicrypt) partnered in 2004 to make it possible for Canadian independent music companies to efficiently distribute digital music tracks to radio, press, retailers, concert promoters, and other industry destinations securely and in broadcast quality.

Before this partnership the service was only offered to Multinational record companies.

YANGAROO's patented Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS) is a leading secure B2B digital delivery solution for the music and advertising industries. DMDS is an easy to use digital file transfer system that was expressly developed to streamline radio promotion activities for today's music industry.

Using the power of the Internet, DMDS delivers broadcast quality music tracks, together with related promo materials, directly to media outlets anywhere - quickly, securely, and inexpensively.

How much does it cost?

• CIMA Member rate - $2.95 per track/per destination
• Non-Member rate - $3.50 per track/per destination.

How do I use the CIMA/DMDS website?

Have your track information ready, options include:

• Contact information for your company, company logos etc.
• Track details – artist, title, songwriter, MAPL information, a brief description of the track/artist
• The track in MP3 or WMA format
• Pics – Cover art or artist photos (.gif/.jpg format 500k max)
• Go to www.cirpa.dmds.ca to upload the above information online.
• Once you’ve completed the contact/track details page you will move on to the destination page and select the destinations (radio stations, press, retailers etc.) you’d like your track to go to.
• Contact CIMA’s DMDS rep., Greg Condie, with your payment information to get your track approved. (We accept VISA, cheques and money orders.)
• All CIMA DMDS tracks are sent to radio on Monday mornings at 9am so please try and have them in the proceeding Thursday by 5pm E.S.T to allow time for processing payment.
